Fireplaces

Inspirational fireplaces, lovingly restored by The Antique Fireplace Restoration Company

In centuries past, the fireplace was a focal point in every home. From the range cooker in the living room, to the small cast iron fireplaces, they made (in modern day parlance) a fashion statement. Several years on, in an age where central heating is the norm, they still have that effect today. Whether as a functional fixture or for ornamental purposes.

We at The Antique Fireplace Restoration Company offer a wide range of fireplaces, lovingly restored and reinvigorated by our team of restorers. From the Georgian period to the mid-20th century, no design or style is beyond our level of expertise. We work with cast iron, marble, and wooden fire surrounds. As everything is restored and sold by ourselves, this cuts our overheads – therefore you only pay trade prices.

Why choose a restored fireplace?

If you live in a Victorian or Edwardian property, a fully restored fireplace is more in keeping with your home. Though your home may have had a traditional cast iron fireplace or range, the chimney breast is likely to be intact. A fireplace and fire surround will be a neat addition to your home – even for ornamental purposes if you have central heating.

Prior to choosing your fireplace, take into account which design best suits your home or desired room(s) as well as budget. Do a bit of research into the age of your home; for example, an Edwardian (1901 – 1910) terraced house should have fire surrounds and fireplaces typical of that era. An Art Deco fireplace may be suitable for 1920s or 1930s semi detached houses, though less suitable for a villa built in 1883.
